Testing task: Navigate backwards to a partially checked checkbox in interaction mode

With JAWS in interaction mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "Navigate to the first checkbox. Note: it should be in the partially checked state."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on a link after the first checkbox.
  3. Verify the PC Cursor is active by pressing Alt+Delete. If it is not, turn off the Virtual Cursor by pressing Insert+Z.
  4. Navigate to the first checkbox. Note: it should be in the partially checked state.
  5. Using the following commands, Navigate to the first checkbox. Note: it should be in the partially checked state.
    • Shift+Tab

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'checkbox' is conveyed
  2. Name 'All condiments' is conveyed
  3. State of the checkbox (partially checked) is conveyed
